Investing in Innovation, Education, and the Next Generation of Engineers

Future Solutions was honored to support Trine University's Allen School of Engineering & Computing by donating four 48V lithium batteries and advanced mobile power components for their Campus Service Vehicle (CSV). Designed for hydro-vacuum excavation, the CSV project was part of the university’s senior design program. It was created for Trine’s Campus Operations team to help maintain underground utilities safely and efficiently.

The 2024 CSV engineering team students:

  • T. Aaron Greene

  • Timothy Kasper

  • Matthew Martin

  • Sean Seacatt

  • Augustine Vargas

  • Advised by Dr. Rizacan Sarikaya, Ph.D.

The students designed and fabricated a vehicle capable of using pressurized water and a vacuum system to excavate soil without damaging existing underground infrastructure. Their improvements included a reinforced frame for safer travel, a powerful vacuum and pressure washer system, and upgraded steering for better maneuverability in remote locations.

At Future Solutions, we believe that empowering young engineers with real-world tools and experience isn’t just community outreach—it’s strategic investment. By supporting projects like Trine’s CSV, we’re helping cultivate the next wave of problem-solvers, innovators, and leaders who will shape the future of energy, mobility, and infrastructure. We look forward to continuing partnerships that align education with industry and to welcoming exceptional talent into our team as we build what’s next.

Members of the Future Solutions team had the opportunity to attend Trine’s annual Design Expo for a live demonstration of the vehicle with the student engineers. During the event, we were proud to receive a plaque of appreciation from Trine’s faculty for our support of the program.

“Supporting hands-on innovation like this isn’t just good for students—it’s an investment in the future of our industry.” – Josh Atwood, President of Future Solutions.
